The Carnival returns to Dénia, the last great party pending to return "in a big way"

February 10 from 2023 - 13: 49

The parties are already in Dénia, again. After a few weeks from the Christmas, the city is preparing to start the 2023 calendar of celebrations with an appointment that had not yet managed to find its place since the pandemic. Its about Carnival, «the last party that it was time to return, but in a big way».

This was announced by the councilor of the area, Óscar Mengual, that next to Melani Ivars, Councilor for Education, and Sandra Gertrudix, from Commerce, have presented this Friday the long-awaited return of Carnival. In addition, they have taken the opportunity to announce the program, full of novelties, of this Carnestoltes pels núvols, as they have titled it.

The main date of the Carnival will be on Saturday, February 18. That day the parade that the pandemic took away will be recovered, in which all the participants will tour various neighborhoods of Dénia. In this edition, and at the request of the businesses in the area, the main event and the place where the tour ends will be at the crossroads between Patricio Ferrándiz and Sagunt street.

The departure will be at 17:30 p.m. from La Via street, where the bib numbers can be collected to participate in the contest from 17:00 p.m. From there they will leave towards the final intersection already mentioned, passing through Quevedo street and Arxiduc Carles square. At 18:30 p.m. the contest itself is scheduled to take place, and at 19:30 p.m. the awards ceremony will take place, which this year will have a new category for young people between 13 and 18 years of age. A detailed program with which Mengual "hopes that the streets will be filled with joy again."

Carnestoltes to the Schools

This year, in addition, the initiative of Carnestoltes a les Escoles is repeated, which was born as an alternative proposal when the party could not be celebrated due to COVID in order to have events in a smaller format in educational centers. As councilor Melani Ivars pointed out, there has been a lot of demand from the schools for the activity to be repeated, so the City Council has decided to include it in the programming.

Between August 13 and 17, a rotating batukada workshop will be held in nine schools in Dénia, La Xara and Jesús Pobre that have joined the activity. In addition, there will be a parade inside the facilities with the students after finishing the workshop.

Magnificent, but if you write it in German, your ad is not aimed at Spaniards? Are they restricting access by nationality? How do you want the Spanish to find out? Or are we not welcome at your party? Are the Poblets in Bavaria?

      Do not be rude.
How would you say it in German?
