Next Tuesday, April 19, the PSPV-PSOE Dénia will hold the extraordinary assembly in which the new party executive will be voted on. It will take place in the House of Culture and in it, the outgoing executive, chaired by Vicent Grimalt, current mayor of Dénia, will give an account of his management report for the last four years and the candidates for the general secretariat will be voted on.
Vicent Grimalt will stand for re-election, with a large team made up of more than twenty people with whom "to face the new electoral period that is approaching and work to match or even improve the results of the last municipal ones, which gave us a absolute majority to transform Dénia with our progressive, modern and sustainable project”.
Management balance
The current general secretary of the local socialist group will also take stock of the work carried out by his executive during the last four years. A management that has been marked "by the electoral processes of 2019, the social, economic and health management of the pandemic and the party's support for the government process that has allowed us to carry out the greatest urban transformation in the history of the city", Grimalt has advanced.
The management report will focus on two main axes: the change in the forms of relationship with the militancy driven by digitization and the reduction of bureaucracy, to achieve a more direct treatment and more participation; and the "intense, methodical and honest work, which achieved the best electoral results in the history of the PSPV-PSOE Dénia in the 2019 municipal elections".
Thanks to these results, an absolute majority with 12 aldermen and aldermen, the Socialists have been able to continue completing during this legislature the great transformation that the city needed. According to his announcement:
With emblematic projects such as the improvement of Glorieta and Marqués de Campo, the university campus in Torrecremada or the urban integration that the TRAM works have allowed;
The achievement of the great pending challenges of this municipality, such as a new urban cleaning contract adapted to the new times and the General Plan that will soon see the light;
And without forgetting a socialist maxim: “people, always, at the center of public policies”; a priority that the pandemic has shown as the only possible way to do “good politics”.

For the new stage, Grimalt proposes a “broad and powerful” executive; that he works and also that he hopes to bring the socialist project to more people who want to join as militants”.
To achieve this, the area of organization and communication is reinforced; Two deputy secretaries will be appointed "who think about the future of the city from the perspective of citizen participation"; a municipal policy secretariat that will be in charge of shaping the electoral program for the "Dénia of the future"; two secretariats that represent and give voice to the EATIM of Jesús Pobre and la Xara; and, finally, a youth secretariat, "the present of the party".
