The current secretary general of the Socialists of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, Has officially announced his candidacy to lead the list of PSOE in the upcoming municipal elections to be held 24 May 2015.
On Thursday afternoon he announced his decision to the local assembly of party militants and sympathizers, and with less than a year left for the elections, Grimalt thinks it is "the time to work for the elections".
The PSOE of Dénia currently does not know if there will be primaries or not because the party at the national level only requires them in cities with more than 50.000 inhabitants, but the general secretary of the Community, Ximo Puig, is committed to holding primaries in cities with more than 20.000 inhabitants.
Be that as it may, Grimalt has already made public his candidacy, a long-meditated decision and debated with more people before taking the plunge. According to Grimalt, the decision of his candidacy has not surprised the militancy of the party, who thinks that "He has accepted it in good taste".
