Neighbors warn of a feeling of insecurity in Marqués de Campo since it is closed, despite the fact that only 2 crimes have been registered in 2 months

Last week an online meeting took place between the local executive and the Obrim el center platform, which demands that the Calle Marques de Campo. On behalf of the City Council, the mayor participated, Vicent Grimalt, and the councilors of Citizen Protection, Javier Scotto, from Commerce, Sandra Gertrúdix, and from Territory, Maria Josep Ripoll. During the meeting, the spokespersons for the platform of each sector put their demands on the table so that they could be dealt with by the consistory.

One of the groups represented with the greatest weight was the residents of the center, who expressed their concerns about, among other things, the lack of a restricted access system to Marqués de Campo for loading and unloading in unforeseen situations. and for people with reduced mobility.

In addition, the representative assured that there is a feeling of citizen insecurity on the road, since it was closed, due to the lack of lighting at night and the non-existent road traffic. In the same way, they stressed the danger that a bad organization can pose with respect to the pylons that close the street in case of needing access to emergency services.

The Councilor for Citizen Protection, Javier Scotto, insisted that, according to police reports, only two criminal acts were recorded in the last two months in Marqués de Campo, so "the feeling of insecurity is very subjective, but we will try to improve"said the mayor. In addition, the number of complaints for violations of the COVID regulations in the center, according to Scotto, shows that the police presence is high.

With regard to emergency services, the councilor clarified that both firefighters and ambulances have a key to the pylons to access pedestrian spaces at any time. Likewise, he also assured that the council is working on the aforementioned restricted access system for residents.
