UNED Dénia against gender violence

As every November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is commemorated. Gender violence affects women and girls, women who have been murdered by their partners or ex-partners, as well as gender violence manifested, unfortunately, in many other ways, be it physical, sexual or psychological.

The UNED of Dénia and its Chair of Equality 2030 together with the Dénia City Council, join the institutional actions with a program that will take place from November 22 to 24 in which the new law of "Yes is yes" will be explored and We will reflect on consent for free and healthy sexual relations, in order to contribute to the path of Equality and the eradication of gender violence.

The Chair has also supported teaching innovation projects from different UNED faculties and new courses and training programs have been launched, this being the first established in Spain to work from the academic field for compliance with the 2030 Agenda. and for Equality as a transversal principle to eradicate this social scourge, which still exists throughout the world.

The activities are open to participation and will be taught by experts in each of the legal fields and will take place at the UNED Dénia in collaboration with the Dénia City Council, on the following days:

Paraphrased texts on gender violence will be drawn from books and academic publications by expert authors and references in the field of Equality and gender violence that have been structured into 5 blocks:

  • Roots of gender violence
  • Definition
  • Features
  • The sons and the daughters
  • The present of gender violence

In each reading, the name of the author of the paraphrased text and the book or publication from which the information has been extracted will be provided.

An activity organized by UNED Dénia, Dénia City Council and the collaboration of the Department of Equality, which can be followed in person, live or deferred online, by registering at la web.

Other activities

November 25th

Raquel Martí, as director of the UNED Dénia Center, will receive the José Marsal Caballero award in the culture section during the gala organized by Radio Dénia Cadena Ser. She is the first woman to hold this position in the history of the Dianense center. Under her direction, the Equality Observatory has been created, the first Chair of Equality and Agenda 2030, the UNED Dénia Social Fund has been created, the Quality Certification of the center and its extensions of Xàbia and Benidorm, or the establishment of the Student Seminar, among other merits.
