La III International Exhibition of Vins Singulars i de Poble which was held last Sunday and Monday in the Jesus Pobre riurau has broken records with the service of nearly 5.000 tastings in its two days. More than 1.000 people visited the show throughout the afternoon of Sunday, while on Monday 150 were the innkeepers who were interested in this appointment, compared to the 120 who visited it in the previous edition.
Mara Bañó, president of the organizing association, has been satisfied with the reception this year, recognizing that "I was confident that the hoteliers would respond in this way. The time to offer only Rioja and Ribera, is over, professionals know the products much more and look for special and excellent things".
During Sunday visitors enjoyed the typical foods served and cooked by the usual market stops and other parallel activities in the cultural aspect of the show, this year dedicated to phylloxera.
In the social center there was a talk by Jaume X. Soler (biologist) and Toni Espinós (historian) and a very funny parade with the collaboration of the school of Jesus Pobre and the Colla de tabaleters del Verger. In the words of Bañó "wine is culture and social participation is necessary to teach and to learn".
