An average of 1.000 people annually donate blood in Dénia

Dénia is located at the head of the region of the Marina Alta as far as blood donation is concerned, with an average in the last two years of 1.000 annual donations.

This was announced yesterday by Luís Hernández, deputy medical director of the Alicante Transfusion Center, at the presentation of the new blood donation point that will be installed every two months in the Public Health Center from Plaza Jaume I.

Thus, the new point donation to replace the drive-settled periodically on the street Federico García Lorca, offering greater user convenience and enabling meet increased demand.

The new point donation will begin operating next 11 October, and the calendar has already set the next dates: 18 December 28 February 30 April 27 June, 3 September 31 October 26 of December 2013.

The Councilor for Health of the City of Dénia, Marcela Server, took advantage of the presentation of this new point to announce that there is already a date for the V Solidarity Marathon for blood donation organized by the Ajuntament de Dénia and the Transfusion Center of Alicante: it will be the 13 of April of 2013.
