November 28 from 2012 - 00: 00

December bridge is presented busy with many cultural offerings in the city. One of the most deeply rooted is the Old Toy Fair, which this year celebrates 16 years and to be held on Saturday December 8 in Calle Marques de Campo.

Manolo Noguera, Maite Carrió and Juan Carlos Carrió, members of the Association of Friends of Joguet Denia, unveiled the details of this year, which will bring together around 25 participants with older games, stories, magazines and collector's items . The fair will also feature the collaboration of the training cycle animation IES Chabas, whose students led by Jesús Martínez, will demonstrate games worldwide.

But the main novelty of this edition lies in the opening of an exhibition dedicated to the toymaker historical Manuel Borrás, author among other games of the mythical magic Borras, who died last March and until last year participated in the fair as a unconditional.

According to Manolo Noguera, one of the last wishes expressed by Manuel Borrás to his wife before dying was to exhibit a sample of his collection, and the December 7 will come true. The Center d'Art L'Estacio Denia will host an exhibition dedicated to the figure of Borras from the 7 December to 5 January in which you can see a sample of Manuel Borras Plana collection, which for the first time out of your city (Mataro) to display the public.

It is a collection that Borrás himself began with the pieces that had been stored in the factory from different eras and that was expanding through fairs and markets. The exhibition will be complemented with pieces from the Albarracín Museum belonging to the Eustaquio Castellano collection, some of the oldest Cayro Toys games, pieces by members of the Association and a sample of the "Monolopi" collection by Juan Fernández Moro, a large amateur and collector of this board game.

Maite Carrió announced that they are preparing activities in which people can participate during exposure, thus creating a living museum and respecting the philosophy of Manuel Borrás and his ancestors: "The time a child spends playing is never a wasted time".
