A book donation to Arxiu Municipal Dianense helps to rebuild the culture of the early twentieth century

The collection of books belonged to his grandfather, Rafael Botella Mateu, born in Dénia 31 May of 1871 and from a family related to the owners of the famous Bottle Printing.

The General Geography of the Kingdom of Valencia It was directed by Francisco Carreras and Candi and was published in Barcelona between the years 1920 and 1927. This publication offers a detailed vision, with graphic and cartographic documentation, of the economy and population of the early twentieth century of various Valencian populations.

The magazine Iris. Pictorial It was published weekly between 1900 and 1903. It is bound in six volumes of red cardboard with spines ornamented in gold and is a magnificent sample of the miscellaneous publications of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries that acquired by subscription the families of the bourgeoisie of Dénia.

Councilwoman culture, Pepa FontHe thanked this donation that "It helps rebuild the cultural world of that Dénia at the beginning of the XNUMXth century" and announced that they will be exposed to the public in the facilities of the Municipal Arxiu.
