A cleaner Dénia thanks to the «Green Line» app

August 27 from 2014 - 18: 45

Councilman Environment, Juan Carlos Signes and Urbaser manager, José Vicente Saura, presented a joint initiative of the City of Denia and the company responsible for waste collection service to reduce the impact of odors from dumpsters.

The consistory has received several complaints regarding the smell of the containers, mainly due to the noncompliance with the municipal ordinance that stipulates that the organic waste must be deposited in the containers between 21 and 00 hours. In the words of Signes, "this is a particularly hot year in which high temperatures intensify the stench of waste, which requires greater respect for the ordinance by users."

Juan Carlos Signes presented the campaign Garbage Dénia

Anti-Odor measures

Urbaser will clean those containers on which they have received complaints. The company also stick informational stickers on each of the almost 2.500 containers located in the city so that users know when to deposit such waste and initiate an intensive awareness campaign. In addition, a cleaning device daytime act in areas where complaints are received.

Juan Carlos Signes has indicated that the Local Police will also participate in this device. During the next few days the agents will increase surveillance in the areas where the problem is most acute and inform the offenders.

One of the areas will be monitored Loreto street where, according to Signes, "infringements have been reported not both individuals and commercial establishments". Signes also announced that measures will be taken against restoration companies that do not respect the ordinance. Urbaser manager recalled that currently these restaurants have a specific service door to door collection to facilitate the collection of the large volume of waste generated.

Green Line App

Detection of this problem has been possible thanks to the launch of the app Green Line, the own Department of Environment recently activated and allows reporting from the mobile any damage that is in the city. Signes invited citizens to continue denouncing these problems either through this application, communicating directly with Urbaser or through associations and political parties.

Well good, thank goodness that our council knows how hot it is on the street this summer.

When I see him on the street I have to tell him that he can still become a meteorologist ...

A little embarrassed ,, had to have older people who have to make complaints to the very Illustrious City Council on the status of the Casco Antiguo of our Ciutat ,,,,,

The problem is the dog owners, who are unable to collect the droppings. I had a dog and I have never allowed my dog did its needs on the sidewalks.
    Absence of education

    Many app's… ..
And many campaigns where the money is spent, are announced with great fanfare and then are useless, because there is no control over it.

But remember the campaign to collect the waste left by the dogs.
It is enough to take a walk through the area of calle sertorio, pedreguer, lepanto, paseo saladar, sections in Avda. Joan fuster ... .. to verify that the smell of dog urine is unbearable, apart from having to go dodging the poop of the themselves….

These streets need to be cleaned thoroughly every week with detergents, because it is truly unfortunate status.

Furthermore dog owners should be more respectful of their neighbors, and severely fined for damage to public roads
