A bit of history: that of the Musical Artistic Association of Dénia

We review the trajectory of the Dénia Band, as it is popularly known Artistic Musical Association, The hand of its president, Josep V. Bonet Camps.

The Artistic Music Group of Dénia was created in the month of April of 1952. This training gathered the long musical tradition of a city that at the beginning of the 20th century had three music bands. On behalf of the Band of Dénia is linked to that of Manuel Lattur Català, alma mater of the first board. After his death, his son Manuel Lattur Monton took over the presidency and also the direction of the Band. The incorporation of women, reviving the school and the creation of the Youth Band marked a time of change and openness in the history of the Association.

Currently the Band is composed of 85 musicians, with an average age of between 24 and 25 years. Frank de Vuyst is the band's director since the 2002 summer. Josep V. Bonet highlights various projects and successes achieved by the Association since then, such as the recording of his first CD "The Pasdoble" in April 2004; A year later the band releases "L'Odyssey" (Symphony number 2) by the hand of its composer Robert W. In July 2005 during the festivities of Denia, La Banda, accompanied by three soloists, the choir and the Choir of Utiel they interpreted Dénia "Carmina Burana" Carl Off and "182 Obertura" by Tchaikovsky, which would end with a castle of fireworks. On December 3 of this same year, the Band obtained the First Prize and Honorable Mention in the International Competition of Music Bands Vila d'Altea. In 2006, the Band He traveled to Korea to participate in an outstanding contest, being the only civil band that performed in this event. This past summer has been especially intense for the Band, as it has been transmitted by its president, given that he has participated in two contests in a row, the Música Festera de Villena and the Vila d'Alginet.
