Wanna One, dianense studio of marketing, design, and interior design, is among the finalists of the 15 number edition of the prestigious international awards Hospitality Design Awards. These awards recognize the best establishments for travelers who want to sleep at a good price, without sacrificing comfort.
The study worked for more than a year in the integral project 2060 The Newton Hostel. His areas of action included a market and trends audit and a brand strategy from which a creative concept anchored in the "carpe diem" was born.
Subsequently, inspired by the prophecy of Isaac Newton, according to which the world will end within 41 years, created the naming and branding of the brand. From there, they converted the old six-storey warehouse located in the central Madrid district of Lavapiés, in a refuge in which to wait, with joy and optimism, for the end of the world.
Esther Mengual, a Gandian and founder of the Wanna One study, explains that "We are committed to creating a unique experience, because a beautiful space is no longer enough for travelers. Hence, at a strategic and business level, we also decided to innovate in the offer of services". Thanks to this the hostel has a spa; a multipurpose room for those who practice "bleisure"; an exclusive bar for guests on the roof, and with 27 rooms where comfort, functionality and privacy prevail, without losing sight of the playful point provided by the bunk beds, also designed by the studio.
The next 5 in June will be known if Mengual, its partner Cathy Figueiredo, a Frenchwoman who has lived in Dénia for more than two decades, and Valencian María Lillo get the Hospitality Design Award for the best Select-Service Hotel. "Having been chosen among more than 780 projects is a great prize for our work. We already felt winning. But we would love to bring us the prize from Broadway and make room for it in the studio", concludes Figueiredo.
