There are still a few days left before its celebration, there are some places left to register for the Weekend Sail Training, organized by the Awake Water For Kids foundation in Marina de Denia with the collaboration of Punta Estrella Yacht Services. A solidarity event that consists of a three-day sailing training on the coast of Dénia and Xàbia. "We are delighted to welcome in our sports and tourist port this journey that promotes navigation for everyone, whether they want to start or are half professionals, an opportunity to be supportive and enjoy the sea," says Gabriel Martínez, director of Marina de Dénia.

The sailing training will be carried out by professional instructors who, in the case of no previous experience, will first carry out an instruction of the basics. Knowledge of the terms and parts of a ship, its rigging and sails, handling of sails, rope work, precautions and personal safety equipment, man overboard maneuvers, emergency equipment, meteorology, tides, helmsman, general tasks and navigation rules.

Also, in the case of experienced participants, the sailing professionals will focus on improving the skills of each one and teaching them to take care of the crew. The learning will take place with the Sun Odysseys 409 (12-meter length) and 509 (15-meter length) sailboats provided by Punta Estrella Yacht Services, which have excellent navigability.

It should be noted that participants will receive 25% to continue a sailing course from the RYA (Royal Yachting Association) with the renowned Costa Blanca Sailing school in Alicante. This is a British sailing certificate with which you can charter a sailing yacht up to 24 meters for private use all over the world. "This is an incredible opportunity if one has just started sailing or already has a license, for example, Spanish, but wants an internationally recognized certificate," says Sam Spencer-White, manager of Punta Estrella.

The event will be held from October 31 to November 2. The first two days, from 10 a.m. to 17 p.m., there will be an intensive sailing training, around Dénia and Xàbia and on November 2 there will be a crossing.

For her part, Thea Pernack, co-founder of Awake Water For Kids, explained that this initiative is to support the Valencian NGO, Kassumay and its Social Vision Projet project, an initiative promoted by the illustrator Daud with the desire to improve the conditions of life of children in children in Senegal. "We want to help these children integrate into Senegalese life both socially and professionally, providing them access to education, through artistic pedagogy and professional training." Everything that is collected in the Weekend Sail Training will go to this project.

To participate it is necessary to register through the email info@puntaestrellayachts.com or by calling 603 812 727.
