Turisme Comunitat Valenciana maintains the subsidy of 200.000 euros for Dénia for the concept "Plan of promotion of Dénia and the Valencian Community"

The general director of Tourism, Herick Campos, met today Friday with the mayor and mayor of Tourism, Vicent Grimalt, and the councilor of Beach, Pepe Doménech, to explain the details of the aid to tourist destinations of the Generalitat that correspond this year to Dénia.

In the chapter on aid to tourist destinations through local entities (a total of 5,5 million euros), Dénia has been awarded some 63.000 euros to subsidize part of the cost of some services provided on the beaches :
- Rescue and lifeguard service: total cost, € 774.332. Grant: € 50.000.
- Renovation of posters and signage: total cost, € 21.377. Subsidy: € 10.688.
- Certification of the management system according to ISO 9001: 2015 and ISO 14001: 2015 of beach services: total cost, € 3.902. Subsidy: € 1.951.

In addition, from the new line of direct aid to companies to maintain activity after the state of alarm (6,5 million), different associations and companies in the city have received subsidies for an approximate amount of € 27.000 to undertake actions to promote the marketing and promoting competitiveness.

Agreement for the promotion of Dénia as a gastronomic, experiential and sustainable tourist destination

The Generalitat has also maintained, despite the exceptional situation derived from the COVID-19 pandemic, the nominative aid (8,1 million euros), of which Dénia has granted € 200.000 for the concept "Dénia promotion plan i the Valencian Community ", despite the fact that this year the D * NA, the gastronomic festival that took place on the Paseo de la Marineta Cassiana and in 2019 it adopted the format of a forum for the exchange of experiences and reflection on the future and the possibilities of Dénia as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.

Within the "Pla de promoció de Dénia i la Comunitat Valenciana", in 2020 the organization of the third D * NA Gastronomic Festival was planned. Given the health situation, the resulting economic crisis and other events that occurred during the last year, such as the strong winter storms, which have damaged the positioning of Dénia as a tourist destination, this amount will be used to carry out promotional actions of the city such as gastronomic, experiential and sustainable destination in the Community, under the brands Creative City of Gastronomy and El Exquisito Mediterráneo, "that resituate its gastronomic and tourist positioning in a new world scenario".

    Donating that money to the Denia Hospital would be the best thing they could do for Denia. Now is the time for priorities and "your festival" is not. That is why the city council said no to the Government on the issue of money in order to continue doing what has always been done. Use public subsidies to support friends, relatives and various clappers.
