Three dianenses among the almost 4500 who died in Nazi concentration camps that for the first time published and formalized the BOE

August 10 from 2019 - 09: 18

As part of the initiatives of the Historical Memory Law, yesterday the names of almost Spanish 4500 who died in Nazi concentration camps were published in the BOE. The objective of this is to facilitate the work for the families to know what happened to them and register them without as much difficulty as deceased.

Among the endless list of names that France provided in 1950 and that the Franco regime tried to make disappear for a while, those of 3 dianenses who died in the Mauthausen-Gusen camp between 41 and 44 have been made public. They are Asensio Vives Roselló, who is now known to have died in 1941 in the field, Jaime Crespo Vengut, who died in the 42, and José Ramis Grimal (who appears twice, the second one as José Llopis Grimal), who died in The 44 At the beginning of the year the City Council paid tribute in memory of his memory.

Until now, all that was known of the Spanish victims of the Nazi camps was by testimonies of survivors, photographs and private investigations, but now is the first time that the name of the deceased is officially recognized and published. And that's not all, because from the Ministry of Justice they warn that hundreds of names are missing that have not been added because France has not provided them.

These are people who fled to France during the Civil War and that when those territories were occupied by the Nazis were sent to their concentration camps as statelessness after Franco's refusal to take charge of them and deny them nationality.
