Three cyclists from the Marina Alta manage to overcome the 5 days of the first Superbrevet of 2020

From Saturday, August 15 to Wednesday, August 19, the CARSAN long-distance test was held in Caravaca de la Cruz with destination in Santiago de Compostela, in a journey of 1.200 km to be completed in 90 hours, self-sufficient, and without assistance, the participants of the same.

The Superbrevet is the first to be held in Spain in 2020 and has brought together a total of 75 participants of whom only 53 have completed in regulation time, among which were the runners of the Marina Alta, Fernando Sendra (CC Pedreguer), Gema de Fez and Javi Almela from UC Montgó Dénia.

The three formed a group together with randonneurs from the province of Alicante managing to complete the test in 88h32 ', with the starting gun at 9:30 on Saturday from Caravaca and arriving in Lestedo (Santiago de Compostela) at 02:02 on Wednesday, on the way hundreds of kilometers and anecdotes complement this great experience.

The orography and the weather were the variables that determined the hardness of it, from the heat of Murcia to the rains of Galicia with varying temperatures, diagonally crossing the peninsula through remarkable landscapes such as the Lagunas de Ruidera and Sierra de Gredos among others, with day and night alternated without interruption.
