After years of waiting, the Xara Day Center opens its doors for 40 users

It has taken a long time, more than expected, but it is already a reality. The 11 last January began to operate the Day Center for people with functional diversity built next to the Occupational Center of La Xara.

This infrastructure, one of the most demanded by the sector of functional diversity in the region, has been created for a total of 40 seats, which will be attended by 12 technical professionals who must be added cleaning and kitchen staff. The center, like the Occupational Center, is managed by APROSDECO.

The works of the center began in January of 2017 almost by surprise. The works have been carried out by the company CRIMSA. The initial budget of the Consellería was 450.000 €, and finally they were tendered for a total of 370.000 €.

Despite the fact that its opening was scheduled for June 2017, it took a year and a half of bureaucracy and paralysis for its doors to open definitively, thus covering an important gap in the world of functional diversity of the Marina Alta.
