Turisme Comunitat Valenciana has awarded the second prize of its Innovation Award in the Tourist Info Network this year to the Department of Tourism of the City Council of Dénia for its communication strategy aimed at its target audiences - citizens, tourists and companies in the tourism sector of the city- in the face of the change of scenery generated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The general director of Turisme, Herick Campos, has been in charge of announcing the winners during the closing of the Tourist Info 2020 Conference, a meeting held this year online, which was opened this morning by the regional secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer, and who has brought together technical staff and heads of tourist information offices attached to the Turisme Comunitat Valenciana network in order to coordinate the work and assess improvements.
Tourist Info Dénia's communication strategy has been based, fundamentally, on reinforcing communication with its target audiences through the creation of new tools and service channels.

During the first months of confinement, Dénia Tourism reported daily through its website (www.denia.net) of the main news related to the state of alarm and the tourism sector of the city. Likewise, campaigns were developed on social networks aimed at tourists and citizens with the aim of transmitting the support of the department during the confinement (“Stay at Home” campaign) and generating new illusion to neighbors and visitors to enjoy Dénia again in a near future (campaign aimed at the tourist "Being a tourist in Dénia" and the citizen "Dénia. The recipe to get out of this").

The use of WhatsApp and Telegram communication channels created by the Dénia Town Hall to keep its followers informed about the status of the tourist sites has also been promoted from the tourist website. beaches in Dénia and thus enjoy them during the summer, in the safest way possible.

Another of the most important points of this project has been the support to the tourist business sector of the city through the development of the campaign on social networks "Your house without you" aimed at the national market and the creation of communication channels such as a fortnightly newsletter and a new professional profile on Twitter, DéniaTurismo News, through which information is provided on the actions carried out by the Department of Tourism and also includes information of interest about the sector, such as training and online talks. These channels are still active today.

This Dénia Tourism project is configured as a commitment to continue working to satisfy the needs of the different target audiences, maintaining creativity, sustainability and excellence as main values, through the use of tourist intelligence tools.

The winners of this fourth edition of the award have been the offices of the Red Tourist Info of Anna and Quesa, for their commitment to the use of new technologies, which has allowed the Mancomunidad de La Canal de Navarrés to be positioned as the first supramunicipal entity in reaching the maximum level of development of the destinations of the DTI network (Smart Tourist Destinations) nationwide.
