Tomás Sivera first prize in a Waterfront Sculptures that will seek more female presence

The Mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, Director of Marina de DeniaGabriel Martínez, the sculptor Toni Marí and the rest of the jury, composed of Modesto Marí and Nicolás Merle, met this morning at Marina de Denia, to deliver the awards to the winners of the exhibition Waterfront Sculptures. The exhibition was inaugurated in July and can still be seen at the Ribera Pier of the Marina and Dénia Marina.

The first prize, endowed with 1.500 euros, went to Tomás Sivera for his sculpture Sea colp, a piece of rough stone that represents the sea. Second, the jury has awarded Andrés Escrivá with 1.000 euros for his sculpture Reunion and thirdly the prize of 500 euros has fallen to Salvador Moya, for Curved Jewel.

The mayor of Dénia has congratulated all the participants, and especially the winners, for the work they have done and that assures that they have been pleasantly surprised. "I also congratulate Marina de Dénia for giving artists the opportunity to exhibit in a framework like this and for their involvement in the culture of our city", said Grimalt.

Nine artists participated in the exhibition: Tomás Sivera, Juan Caravaca, Andrés Escrivá, Kiko Torres, Miguel Ángel Miguel, Salvador Mollà, José Antonio Ahuir, Teo San José and Manolo Navas.

Gabriel Martínez has assured that they will work"to carry out a new edition in which more female presence is expected. This exhibition has been a success in social networks, which has favored the projection of Dénia internationally."
