One more year, and with the aim of valuing the culture of the Valencian territory, Compromís per Dénia has announced the winners in the Premis of the 2017 Tardor, which will be delivered next Friday, November 24, in the Jauja room of Baleària Port.
In this edition the writer and professor Tomás Llopis, and the musical group Aspencat will be recognized. As is traditional, the militants and supporters propose and vote for the candidates. In this sense, the local secretary, Vicent Català, has highly valued the election "because they are well-known and representative figures of the Marina Alta in the world of letters and music" and with which "We met an objective of these awards, as is to make region". In addition, he stressed that the candidates "They are already part of our cultural history, spreading and promoting their own language, culture and social justice through their artistic disciplines."
Tomàs Llopis
Tomàs Llopis (Beniarbeig 1954), will be awarded the individual prize "Tomás Miquel Perelló". Llopis has completed higher studies in Philosophy and Letters at the University of Valencia. He participates in the Board of Directors and the teaching section of Acció Cultural del País Valencià (ACPV) and has taught literature at the IES Enric Valor de Pego, locality that granted him the recognition of adopted son 2016.
Llopis has combined his teaching activity with the coordination of studies, dossiers and several publications of literary orientation, such as L'Aiguadolç, Serra d'Or o Canelobre, as well as in the edition and translation of foreign poems and poetic-musical recitals based on texts by different authors in our language, such as Ausiàs March, Estellés, Carlos Salvador or Antoni Prats, among many others. He has also participated in poetic shows, such as L'Odyssey o Llibre de Dénia (with music by Miquel Pérez Perelló), and has collaborated in various performances of the Daniya group.
But his role as a writer is perhaps the most outstanding, as he has been curator and author of books and publications of both didactic, research and literary studies, as well as narrative and poetry. For this reason, it has been recognized with prizes such as the Yaraní (Gandia, 1996) with the work Music pagat no fa bon sota; the prize 25 d'abril de Poesía (Benissa, 1999) with Palau de Cendra; Juan Climent (Gandia, 2002); and with the Premi Andròmina de narrativa de los Premis Octubre (2012) for his historical novel Hi he has morts that weigh cent anys.
Aspencat
As for the collective prize, Aspencat is a music group from Xaló and born in the year 2005. It is marked by its own style, product of the particular way of fusing electronic music, ska, reggae and dancehall, with a lyric in Valencian, critical, combative and denouncing the existing political conditions between 2005 and 2015, period of its record business .
Despite doing it in unfavorable times, with his music he has put our language into value, crossing borders with the numerous tours and performances in national and international festivals, such as the Viñarock, Rototom Sunsplash or Saville, among many others.
With 6 published works, an energetic staging, its musical originality and hundreds of concerts behind its back, it is not surprising that Aspencat has become one of the most consolidated groups in Valencian territory and a benchmark for a whole generation, along with others such as Gossa Deaf, No Obrint u Orxata Sound System. After announcing their retirement, during 2017 they have been doing the farewell tour with concerts in cities throughout the national territory.
