"We are Capable" of Condenados al Bordillo receives recognition from the Generalitat in the Inclusive Sports Awards

Last Wednesday, 10 in July, the Gala of delivery of the first Inclusive Sports Awards took place, organized by the Association of World Professionals for Social Integration (Promis), where the program We are able de Condenados al Curzon received the recognition of the Generalitat. The aim of the awards is to promote sports programs aimed at all types of athletes. 29 candidacies of 6 autonomous communities have opted for these awards, which drive initiatives that give opportunity to all athletes to put their spirit of self-improvement into practice.

The program We are able of the Municipal School of adapted sport of the City council of Dénia has received the first prize of adapted sports. In the 2010 year, this program was started and now more than 70 athletes with different ages, sexes and abilities participate, with the fundamental objective of getting them to enjoy the benefits of sports and physical exercise.

From Condemned to the Curb, they affirm that "We are capable thanks to the City Council of Dénia, the Department of Education, Culture and Sports of the Generalitat Valenciana and various individuals. And to the support and trust of the Raquel Payà School and the IES Maria Ibars ".

The event was held in the Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture of the Generalitat Valenciana with the presence of Monica Oltra, Vice President and Councilor for Equality and Inclusive Policies, who in her speech said that "Sport is a belt of transmission of values ​​that allows us to learn more deeply. If we add an inclusive look, it becomes a powerful tool that eliminates many of the barriers, both physical and social".

Meanwhile, Vicent Marzà, Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of the Generalitat Valenciana, added: "Sport and inclusion make up a magnificent tandem and these awards are a good example. For three years, a specific aid line has been created for projects to promote inclusion through physical activity and sport. The projects presented are magnificent and, no doubt, we will continue to support activities that promote equality and social inclusion ".
