Solve the problems of crossing Joan Fuster worth 100.000 euros

26 September 2013 - 00: 02

Fourteen traffic lights for six crossings that today are managed by a provisional rotary installed more than three years ago. That is the most viable solution to end the traffic problems that are generated at the junction of Joan Fuster and Diana streets.

Although the best solution would be a roundabout in conditions, the proximity to the train track and the little space available to maneuver make it impossible for these problems to be solved as well.

Councilman BLOC, Josep Crespo, informed that the person in charge of citizen security, Javier Ygarza, he had in his hands a report approved by the Local Police to solve the problems of crossing by traffic lights. According to Crespo, this intervention would cost 100.000 euros, a cost "elevated but necessary because it is a conflictive place".

Javier Ygarza, on the other hand, explained that his department is working on the solution of this black point and for this he has requested, after the approved report of the Local Police, several budgets that are around the 100.000 euros.

The main problem is that today there is no money to face this expense, so they are working on seeking funding in different estates. According to Ygarza, for the moment he has not considered including it as part of the Plan Confianza and will look for the money in other ways.

The intervention to solve the problems of Joan Fuster would include the installation of 14 traffic lights and the enabling of sidewalks throughout the stretch.

    "Through traffic lights"

It's not bad, but there are other options.
