This Tuesday, the Provincial Court of Alicante, begins the trial for the murder of Gema, a neighbor of Denia who allegedly died at the hands of his expareja in May 2015 in his home.
The defendant will be tried by a popular jury, and faces a conviction of 20 prosecution years imprisonment as alleged perpetrator of a murder crime and a year for a continuing felony conviction offense.
At the time of the incident, the defendant was ordered to stay away and to ban communication with the victim, but he nevertheless slept in the habitual residence of the deceased.
According to the prosecutor, the 14 night of May 2015, while the victim slept, the defendant stabbed a kitchen knife in his neck, which caused a hemorrhage that led to his death. After the facts he was detained, and he has remained in provisional prison since then.
