Slow Food Marina Alta brings together students and fisherfolk in the Pòsit

On Saturday November 23 the Pòsit Denia was the scene of an interesting encounter between traditional fishermen and students and teachers of the Earth Alliance Chair of the Polytechnic University of Valencia organized by Slow Food Marina Alta.

This event was created to create a space for debate and reflection on the problems afflicting this sector and bring the reality of artisanal fisheries students, and with the collaboration of professionals from different fields related to fisheries they offered interesting talks to attendees.

Chef Miguel Ruiz spoke of the uses of fish in the restoration and the importance of local produce, while the fisherman Juan Antonio Santacreu spoke about the techniques of local fisheries. To conclude the presentations, marine biologist Elena Martínez García explained the differences in product quality in artisanal fisheries and aquaculture today.

After the talks, the fishermen of Denia prepared a fideuà for attendees who shared with local products like wine Xaló Benissa supplies and products.

    of all the photos that have come out, there is no artisanal fishing boat… .. Artisanal fishing is called small gear boats, such as trammel, longline, etc. but not to trawling or seine fishing …… or is it that now we suck our fingers… a bit seriously please… ..that we want to deceive the public
