The Ministry of Health has announced weekly visits to health centers and clinics in the region in order to assess the needs in terms of infrastructure and maintenance of the Dénia Health Department. This was explained by the general director of High Inspection, Isabel González, after the meeting held with the Xarxa d'Alcaldes de la Marina Alta in Dénia.

In this meeting, the first after the words of the President Ximo Puig on the reversion procedures to the public management of the Dénia health department, the mayors of Dénia participated, Xàbia, Pego, Gata, Pedreguer and El Verger, who transferred to the representatives of the Conselleria the situation in each municipality.

Gonzalez explained that, currently, hospitals managed directly have a plan for dignifying infrastructure, and that is why they want to know , the status of the 11 health centers and clinics that exist in the region.

These visits are carried out in parallel with the negotiations that are already being carried out by the president with the concessionaire of health in the region. It should be remembered that the Dénia Health Department concession ends at 2024. Now, the work of the Ministry is focused on verifying that the concessionaire company complies with all the points stipulated in the contract, a control that, until now, according to the director general, had not been carried out.

For its part, Encarna Llinares, territorial director of Health in the province of Alicante, said they work "side by side so that citizens have the health care they deserve".
