The Ribera health group has developed a cardiovascular network to launch its Heart Area, made up of a multidisciplinary team with the best specialists from four of its hospitals, to offer the best comprehensive care to patients with cardiovascular problems. In this first phase, the university hospitals of Torrejón and Vinalopó (Elche), the Denia hospital and the Ribera Povisa hospital (Vigo) are integrated.
The objective of the Ribera Heart Area is to unify cardiovascular care protocols, reducing clinical variability and promoting organisational, diagnostic and therapeutic improvements that optimize patient health outcomes. And at the same time, facilitate inter-hospital collaboration so that the best specialists from each center jointly address each case, regardless of where the patient is geographically.
Thus, specialists from Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Arrhythmia Units, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Hemodynamics and Anesthesiology and Resuscitation from four hospitals will assess and work as a team to address each patient's case with the highest quality, the latest diagnostic and intervention techniques and the better technology. In addition, values such as experience, close and human treatment, rapid diagnosis and interventions, the involvement of professionals and a commitment to research and innovation make the team of professionals united in this initiative one of the best of Spain, at the service of patients with cardiovascular problems, who are guaranteed personalized attention.
The coordinators of the Ribera Heart Area are doctors Juan Carlos Arias, Eduardo Alegría, Carlos de Diego and Alfonso Valle, heads of the Cardiology services of the Ribera Povisa Hospital (Vigo), of the university hospitals of Torrejón and Vinalopó, and of the Denia hospital, in addition to doctors José Albors, Evaristo Castedo and Paloma Martínez-Cabeza, heads of the Cardiac Surgery Service of Vinalopó and Torrejón, respectively, and doctor Luis González, coordinator of the Electrophysiology Unit of the Vinalopó University Hospital.
