The City Council of Dénia has recently renewed, in its budgets for 2021, the collaboration agreement with La Sella Golf for the celebration of VI Circuit Dénia Gastronomic City. The designated destinations for this edition of the Dénia Gastronomic City Circuit have been Zaragoza and Segovia, two especially interesting cities for the promotion of Dénia and the region of the Marina Alta.
The Golf Los Lagos facilities, in Zaragoza, will host the first stop of the circuit, which will be held on May 23. From the organization of the tournament they emphasize that it is an area of special interest where, in the last year, golf licenses have increased considerably and from where we have received many visits with the increase in national tourism due to the health crisis. "The Zaragoza is a very good client for our region", confirms Carlos García, director of La Sella Golf.
The tournament will continue on August 1 at the La Faisanera field, in Segovia, a course designed, like La Sella Golf, by José María Olazábal and where not only Segovians approach but players from Madrid and Toledo with a second residence in Segovia.
From La Sella Golf, it continues to bet on the promotion of Dénia and the Marina Alta through this tournament, which in 2020 visited the cities of Albacete and Parma (Italy), and which has been revealed as a powerful tool for promoting tourism in Dénia and the UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy project.
The Dénia Gastronomic City Golf Tour is an initiative promoted since 2016 by the Dénia City Council in order to promote the tourist season outside the usual months of sun and beach, since the high golf seasons are in autumn and spring, and promote activities complementary.
This tournament is part of the numerous initiatives related to the choice of Dénia as a UNESCO Gastronomic City, an award that recognizes the creative tradition and the effort made in recent years to turn Dénia and the Marina Alta region into a destination world class gastronomic.
