The next 9 in June will be the sixth edition of the Rapid Painting Competition Ciutat de Dénia, an activity organized by the Department of Culture with the collaboration of the collective of regional artists ADAMA.
This year, the contest will be faster than ever, since, at the request of the participants, its duration has been shortened to four hours. Thus, the artists that take part in it will paint from 10: 00 to 14: 00 hours, and not until well into the afternoon, as it happened until now.
The theme of the quick painting contest is free and the scenarios chosen for the artists to be inspired are the historic center, the Calle Marques de Campo and the port of Dénia. The jury will count, one more year, with the collaboration of artists Joan Castejón, Vicent Morales and Teo Sanjosé.
Prizes
The rules of the contest establish five prizes, whose endowment is sponsored by the City of Dénia, Baleària and Marina Color. The first classified will receive 1.000 euros, the second, 500 euros and the third, 300 euros. There is also a prize for the best local artist consisting of a trip to Formentera for two people and another to the best artist in the region, endowed with a lot of paintings valued at 100 euros. These prizes will be delivered on the day of the contest, at 15 hours, in the Plaza del Consell. In addition, the five awarded works will be exhibited at the Dénia Culture House from the 12 to the 29 in June.
Food for the participants
Once the prize-giving ceremony is over, a free meal will be held for the participants, which can also be accompanied by paying 15 euros. This is the other main novelty introduced this year with which the organization seeks to encourage coexistence among the participants, promote the exchange with the members of the jury and the creation of a pleasant atmosphere that improves the competition and the taste of the artists to participate.
Open enrollment
Registration is free and can be formalized until May 30 to the mail cultura@ayto-denia.es. It is also possible to register the same day of the contest, from 9 to 10 hours, at the Tourist Office of the Plaza del Consell, although these participants will not be able to enjoy the free food offered by the organization.
