The Castell is, without a doubt, the most visited monument in the city. However, few know the fortress "from the outside". This Easter, the Department of Archeology and Museums offers the possibility of taking a tour of the exterior and contemplating it from another point of view: seeing the walls as the soldiers who guarded them. The visit will begin with the possibility of accessing the roundabout and visiting part of the fortress with a walk on the walls and crenellated towers that closed off the medieval city; to discover unknown accesses, or to contemplate defenses that have surely gone unnoticed.
The visit will stop at the “Batería del Mar”, between the Llavador or Senieta towers and the Galliner tower, to analyze the architecture and contemplate the founding epigraphic inscription of the master builder ONOFRE MIRALLES, 1539. And, above all, you will be able to learn first-hand about the rehabilitation process, currently underway, which contemplates access to the fortress from the port and the seaside suburb.
