What can and cannot be done in the new alarm state

26 October 2020 - 09: 49

Again, since the afternoon of Sunday, October 25, the Government of Spain has decreed a state of alarm throughout the territory to combat the coronavirus. And the intention is that this last much longer than the previous one, specifically until May 9.

Now, the new accompanying measures have nothing to do with the previous ones. There is no generalized confinement, for example. The decree only serves to support and allow the restriction measures in each autonomy, which could decide at some point the confinement of all or part of the community.

New restrictions on the state of alarm in the Valencian Community

  • Night mobility restriction: It is a curfew from 23:00 p.m. to 06:00 a.m., where people will not be able to leave their homes except for work or force majeure. It will affect the entire country but the autonomous regions will have the flexibility to slightly modify the start and end time of the ring, hour up hour down.

Therefore, everything indicates that the Valencian Community will continue with theirs that begins an hour later, from 00:00 to 06:00. Initially, this obligation of the Government will last until November 9, so the Generalitat will be able to deactivate, as it intended, its touch before Christmas.

  • Private and public meetings limited to 6 participants maximum: It is not an obligation, but this state of alarm will ensure that the community that wishes can carry out this measure if they see it necessary. In the Valencian Community until the beginning of December it will take place, since the meetings are already limited to a maximum of 6 people in both the public and private spaces.
  • Restriction of circulation: it will allow the autonomies, if necessary, to restrict the entrances and exits of all or part of their territory. In the same way, it will make it possible to confine neighborhoods, municipalities, departments, provinces or communities. It will also have exceptions such as in cases of having work obligations or the duty to attend health or educational centers. At the moment, the Valencian Community is not considering applying it until the situation worsens.
