The presentation of the solidarity project "120 South Miles" took place at the Tururac facilities. An initiative promoted by Tururac with the objective of raising funds for the Association for the fight against cancer in Dénia, who in turn will use it for the study of this disease in children.
The ceremony was attended by Fernando Sendra of Tururac, Pablo Segarra, president of the Association for the fight against cancer of Dénia and Sergio Dénia, broadcaster of Radio Dénia Ser. Sendra commented, "sThis is a solo sailing project in a sea kayak along the coast of Alicante. It is an adventure that unifies sports, tourism and, of course, solidarity".
Stages of navigation
The crossing that Fernando Sendra will carry out will depart from Dénia on 10 day of February and will take place at 12 stages where 18 kilometers will be made along the coast of Alicante. The stages that make up this initiative are; Dénia- Cala Blanca in Jávea. The second will leave from Cala Blanca to Cala de la Granadella, the third from Granadella to Moraira. The fourth stage will sail from Moraira to Calpe. The fifth will go from Calpe to Portet de Altea. The sixth will start in the Portet de Altea to Benidorm.
The seventh part from Benidorm and will go to Villajoyosa, the eighth will depart from Villajoyosa to Campello, from there depart the ninth to reach the Port of Alicante. The tenth will sail from Alicante to Santa Pola, the eleventh will go from Santa Pola to Torrevieja and the last scheduled stage for the 12 in May will depart from Torrevieja to Pilar de la Horadada.
Solidarity event
Those who wish to collaborate on this project can do so individually through piggy banks that will be located in different places that will be previously announced. You can also collaborate by acquiring a commemorative t-shirt for this adventure or by buying a bracelet. Sendra pointed out, "with this purchase what is intended that those who buy it identify with the project"These articles will be put up for sale in the Tururac store next February. Other forms of collaboration are those for companies, which can do so as a collaboration, sponsoring it or being sponsors.
The president of the Association of the fight against cancer of Dénia, Pablo Segarra added "We believe that this initiative is very positive since it is always important to link sport with tourism and obviously with solidarity. It is necessary to continue investigating this disease in children and the total revenue we will allocate for this purpose"Segarra stressed,"It is a great project that I am sure will serve as a reference so that it can be carried out in other parts of Spain".
