The first environmentally sustainable 'Circuit a Peu Marina Alta' presented

January 27 from 2020 - 13: 22

The Jauja room of the Maritime station Baleària Port was the scene of the presentation of the "XIV Circuit a Peu Marina Alta”, a series of 12 popular races that are organized in various locations in the region and that, as a great novelty, will be sustainable with the environment.

The organization has influenced, during the preparation of the Circuit, on the importance of eliminating single-use plastics that were usually present in each test. For this edition, and with the collaboration of the Fundació Baleària, all the refreshments for each of the races will be more sustainable. The usual plastic containers are exchanged for others that will be water containers made with cardboard or produced with 100% biodegradable corn fiber and with paper bags.

The act was chaired by the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, Climate Emergency and Ecological Transition of the Generalitat Valenciana, Mireia Mollá, in addition to the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, and other mayors and councilors of the organizing towns.

The new president of the Circuit, Juan Zaragozí, was discovering other novelties that the 2020 edition will have, such as the unique shirt. That is to say, it goes from a gift shirt per race to a better quality one. This is intended to reduce their production by 15.000 units.

Another great novelty comes in the supplies where you stop giving items of industrial pastries and you go on to give pieces of fruit and food typical of each of the organizing populations.

The presentation was directed by Jovi Seser, president of the Cultural Association of the Marina Alta (MACMA), who was responsible for making all the news known. Different videos were broadcast during the event: one of the presentation of the Circuit a Peu to the Marina, and two others about the new bottles and plastic free glasses. Other audiovisual materials were also issued to promote this important sporting event, one of the most runners gathers in the Valencian Community.

Foundation Baleària will be in charge of organizing exhibitions in various municipalities with a clear environmental focus. Taking advantage of your program Llonges de la Cultura, the entity will show works made with recycled plastics, in addition, it will organize children's workshops on recycling and, in collaboration with the Oceanográfic Foundation, a release of turtles in the beaches de Xàbia.
