Presentation at the Dénia Tennis Club of the 'XXXX Orysol Circuit'

Facilities Dénia Tennis Club welcomed the presentation of "XXXX Circuit Orysol", tennis, one of the oldest in Europe and a pioneer in our country. Together with Elsa Bordehore, president of the club, were Olegario Casellés, vice president, Manu Sala, director of the tournament and the mayor of sports, Vicent Crespo.

Bordehore explained that "is an international scoring tournament for the world tennis ranking, and serves the young promises of world tennis as a catapult to get their first ATP points, essential to participate in the big world tournaments".

Excellent players have been in the Orysol

Casellés reviewed the 39 years prior to the tournament and commented that, "we have been able to see great players like Rafa Nadal, Juan Carlos Ferrero, David Ferrer, Andy Murray, Roberto Bautista, Nicolás Almagro, Pablo Carreño, and more recently Bernabé Zapata and Jaume Munar who have been called up in the last qualifying rounds. of Davis Cup to represent Spain".

In these last editions the young promises Alex de Minaur have participated, who has been No. 2 in the Junior world ranking and currently 80 in the ATP ranking and Nicola Kuhn., No. 5 in the junior world ranking and 230 in the ATP ranking.

As an attraction for all these young promises last year, the economic amount to be distributed among prizes was increased to 25.000 dollars.

The best promises of tennis in Dénia

The tournament is held from 21 to 29 in July, in the morning and afternoon, which means a large influx of both local and national and international tourists who are spending their vacations in our city.

Manu Sala, tournament director explained that "will be the best promises of international tennis, the 88 players participating in the tournament bring many visitors to our club as they are accompanied by their coaches and their families and this is important for Dénia".

A qualifying preliminary phase is held on July 21, 22 and 23, with a team of 64 players, in which there is representation of players from almost all over the world. As an example, in the last edition, players from: Spain, Germany, the United States, Brazil, Switzerland, Italy, Uzbekistan, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Belgium, Japan, India, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ireland and Belarus participated. Only eight will go to the final frame.

The final phase is played from the 23 day to the 29 of July, and is composed by the 20 registered players with the best ranking, 8 players classified from the previous phase and 4 wild cards (guests) These places of invitation to play the final phase are used for young players with projection or level players who have not previously registered to participate in the tournament.

In addition to the individual test the doubles modality is disputed, from the 23 to the 29 of July with a total of 16 pairs. The thirteen couples with the best ranking and 3 participate in this test wild cards (invitations). 

The final of the doubles event is held on Saturday July 28 and the singles final on Sunday July 29. At the end of the final, the trophies are awarded to the champion and finalist, with the local authorities, the President of the Federation and other authorities attending this delivery.

Vicent Crespo lived the first Orysol tournament up close

The mayor of sports, Vicent Crespo, stressed that, "that this tournament takes 40 years is worthy of the great work done by the Dénia Tennis Club. I was a founding member of the club and I lived intensely that first edition, in fact I participated in the construction of the runway of the central court, which was a task of several partners that we did and that is all a pride for us".
