Concern about the appearance of snakes in Les Roques

21 October 2014 - 18: 28

The appearance of small snakes in different areas of the Les Roques neighborhood has aroused the logical alarm and concern of the residents of that emblematic area of Dénia.

Adder captured in Les Roques

After having sighted four of them in the courtyards of some houses on Desamparats, Sant Fracesc and La Morería streets, the Civil Guard was notified, as well as the Local Police and the council itself.

It was precisely the Environment Service of the Civil Guard (Seprona) who informed the neighbors that they were poisonous reptiles, although of small size, that habitually do not attack unless they feel threatened.

It is the circumstance that for today was a meeting between the new board of directors of the Association Veins Les Roques, with the mayor, Ana Kringe. This will surely be one of the topics that will be discussed at that meeting, in addition to many other concerns that have long been neighbors of the neighborhood.

    Hello
The mistake is not to call the professionals of the Generalitat the Environmental Agents, and call the civil guard

    regards

The one in the photo is not a hovering vibe (vipera latastei)
    Is a snake.
If you throw a news at least put the photo that correponda !! And not snakes

In the routes, specifically in the channel of Lambochar ravine I have also seen, I was 100m of the sea, I take a good scare.
I suggest clearing the ravines, which are full of undergrowth.

  4. Juan says:

Yes, it is what has to be surrounded by nature and green areas such as the Castle, that when a snake lays eggs, MIRACLE, GO OUT CRÍAS !!
Of course we can always "cement" everything as in Benidorm, so there will be no snakes or animals of any kind. Wherever the cement is, let nature take away. (Sarcastic, of course!)

I am not herpetologist, much less, but the snake in the photo, reminds me of the call and once common, snake viper. As its name indicates it looks like a vibe without being it. Its characteristics are triangular head especially if it feels threatened and the drawing of the back that does not get to be the zigzagueante line typical of the viboras. You have to look at the iris that is vertical in the viboras and round snakes.

Are you sure they are viboras? We do not create alarm if there is not one.
