PP criticizes the intention of the City Council to eliminate 54 parking spaces

November 14 from 2019 - 13: 30

The Popular Group of Dénia has held a press conference today to discuss the redevelopment project of the Valgamedios square, Calle Mayor, Pare Pere Street and adjacent.

Eva Catalá explained that the action that is going to be carried out with regard to the renovation of sidewalks, pavement and rainwater evacuation arrangement is correct, installing catchments with a pipe that will connect to Moncada Street.
This issue was a necessity demanded by the residents of the area for years.

For its part, the spokeswoman for the group, María Mut, raises the question of the urgency of this plenary. Remember that this project has already been
dismissed by the Diputación de Alicante twice for an extemporaneous presentation of it. To this, Mut asks: "Haven't they
Had enough time to submit this loan modification in an ordinary plenary session this year? We are in the month of November and, the time, for a change, is on them. That's how well our government team manages. "

The popular have also stressed that the neighbors already demanded in their day, in the meeting held with the Councilor for Neighborhood, Ms. Ripoll, that the parking spaces in this area did not disappear, demand that has not been addressed.

Mut denounces that 54 parking spaces will disappear as a result of this project: 15 in Tenor Cortis Square, 12 in Valgamedios Square, 3 in Bretxa Street, 8 in Cos de Guardia Street and 15 plus one of disabled people in the main Street. “There are many parking spaces that disappear in the center of Dénia”, Eva Catalá said.

For his part, José Antonio Cristóbal, indicates that this project involves the modification of credits that will be taken tomorrow in full urgent. A part of this loan modification is carried out by reducing the amount of new investments in infrastructure of the parks and gardens department by an amount of € 78.000.

To this, Cristóbal raises this reflection: "That money could have been allocated to the departure of personnel from that department to increase the volume of hiring, creating local employment and helping to keep the gardens clean as citizens demand". The popular have finished their press conference by referring to the meeting that members of the Government team have held with Cedma, in which the expansion of urban planning personnel has been announced to expedite the processing of building permits. Mut has commented that it seems a measure that "He's late, too late, but better late than never".

It has been announced by the government team that part of the municipal parks and gardens service will be outsourced by hiring a private company because, according to the executive, there is not enough workforce for the entire municipality and, however, in urban planning, they are going To hire more staff.

On this issue the popular recommend to the executive that "Follow the same criteria in all departments and manage, with greater efficiency and diligence, the resources available to them".
