Portal of the Navy about the hotel capacities of the students of Raquel Payá to restorers of the region

15 June 2018 - 00: 34

Only a few months ago We were able to see first-hand the work they do from the Raquel Payá school to train five of their students in the world of hospitality. Five students who, since October, have worked hard to improve their skills to work in the world of restoration.

This Thursday, four of them, Aroa, Xavi, Jose and José Luis, had one of the most beautiful and exciting opportunities that this first course has given them. Thanks to the collaboration of the Shopping Center Portal de la Marina, the students of the cycle of Basic Adapted FP of Restaurant and Bar could perform a live demonstration before some of the most influential hoteliers in the region.

Pep Romany, Diego Mena, Fernando González and Xavi Pons attended the meeting to see first hand how all of them work and contemplate the possibility of being part of their work teams.

They all agreed on the interesting part of the initiative. Fernando González, from Grupo the Raset, he considered it an opportunity for the students to get to know the world of restoration closely, and an opportunity for the hoteliers to get to know them.

Xavi Pons, from Tasta'm Ondara, stressed the importance of training students, as well as the support of companies to this type of initiative, because "It enriches society, business and these people". On the other hand, Diego Mena, of the restaurant Mena, expressed his desire to collaborate with the initiative, while Pep Romany, of the restaurant Pont Sec, emphasized the invisibility that the collective suffers before society. Asked about the real inclusion, Romany thinks that the hospitality industry "in the medium term it has to change its operating structure"Because "Meeting people who don't have agility is complicated"Therefore "it is necessary to change it".

At lunch was also the councilor of education and acting mayor Rafa Carrió, who congratulated the Portal de la Marina shopping center for this initiative, which he described as "the link we need" after the work of the school and the students.

The school, exultant with this opportunity

Both the teachers and the students of the Raquel Payá school were more than happy with the invitation that the Shopping Center offered them on a platter. A collaboration that arose after 5º Solidarity March organized by Dénia.com in favor of the center. Portal de la Marina made an important financial donation to the school that, in gratitude, invited its manager, Carlos Fita, to a lunch in its facilities.

From that moment, Fita and the Portal de la Marina team got down to work to shape the initiative this Thursday, managing to bring together some of the most important hoteliers in their facilities.

Miquel Ivars, director of the school, thanked the close collaboration of Portal de la Marina with the school from the first moment, and stressed that they have served them "on a silver platter" the occasion, an action that is part of their strategic plan of action to develop during the four courses that the training lasts.

For his part, the teacher of the course, Juan Cervera, explained that thanks to the IES Maria Ibars have been able to perform adapted practices, which has generated great motivation for students, as well as the event held at the mall.

But the project does not end here. Next year, all students will leave for 15 days in Finland to do internships, so they will increase their curriculum. The center will continue betting on events in which students participate, and counting, as everything seems to point, with the complicity of the hospitality sector of the region.
