Podium for Youssef Ahatach and Carlos Heredero in the 'VIII Urban Mile of Sagunto'

Great performance of the three Athletics Club athletes Baleària Diànium, who were participating in the "VIII Urban Mile of Sagunto". Two of them, Youssef Ahatach and Carlos Heredero managed to get on the podium in the senior category. Youssef was second with a time of 4: 52, while Carlos Heredero was third with a mark of 4: 53. In the junior category, Óscar Fornés, entered the finish line in fifth position with a 5: 58 mark.

The test organized by the Department of Sports of this municipality in collaboration with the Athletics Federation of the Valencian Community. The race with an approved track of 1.609 meters, had a wide participation since athletes of all categories took part, from prebenjamines to veterans, being a valid test for the absolute autonomic championship.

The race was held under uncomfortable conditions, as it blew a very annoying wind, which in certain places had against the athletes. The 1.609 meters were divided into 4 laps on the same circuit, this made the layout very demanding for the participants, since in each change of direction they had to put a lot of force so that the rhythm did not break.

Mitja Marató Ciutat de Gandía

The Dianense club also participated in the "Mitja Marató Ciutat de Gandía", one of the most important events of the popular racing calendar of the Region of Valencia. This is a race approved by the Spanish Athletics Federation, with 21.097 meters, with a flat and urban layout. It runs through the maritime area of ​​the city a few meters from the sea and the imposing beach of Gandia. Another part of the route crosses landscapes of the marjal de Gandía and the historic center of the municipality.

In this race the best of the Athletics Club Baleària Diànium was, José Miguel Navarro who made a mark of 1: 33.52. They were also competing; José Manuel Marco (1: 33.52), Francisco Moreno (1: 37.45), Gustavo Crespo (1: 38.41 and Pep Ibáñez (2: 08.53)
