They ask for 6 years in prison for the former mayor of La Vall de Laguart and an official for embezzlement and prevarication

They judge the ex-mayor of La Vall de Laguart, the secretary-controller of the municipal corporation when the events occurred and an official, accused of the crimes of embezzlement and administrative prevarication.

The prosecutor maintains that during the years 2009 to 2011 the first mayor, taking advantage of his position, awarded public contracts of legal and accounting advice to a company of the official also accused, without carrying out the corresponding procedures for public sector contracts. Thus, the mayor awarded directly to the society of the accused through minor contracts, that is, of an amount less than 18.000 euros and with a less demanding procedure, or he divided them, without the secretary-controller of the municipal corporation, also processed in this cause, put objections.

According to the Economic Crimes Section of the Prosecutor's Office, the person in charge of the winning company increased the invoicing of the work allegedly carried out, and appointed family members as directors of the company since he, due to his status as an official, could not appear.

The public prosecution calls for six years in prison for the mayor and the official as the perpetrators of a crime of embezzlement of public funds and another of prevarication. For the municipal secretary-controller, he requests a sentence of three years in prison as an accessory to the same crimes.
