"A dog is not dangerous if the owner is responsible", the campaign that informs Dénia about dangerous animals

The Department of Public Safety of the City of Dénia, following a request from the councilor of GDCU Miguel Llobell, has launched a campaign with information, advice and obligations when it comes to having a potentially dangerous dog.

Through information leaflets, users will be able to have within their reach the rules that govern the possession of this type of animal, in which premium that, if the owner is responsible and complies with the regulations, the dog does not have to be dangerous .

Councilor for Citizen Security, Javier Scotto, Explained that these brochures can be obtained in the offices of OMIC and in stores and animal establishments, which have joined the campaign.

Rules if you have a potentially dangerous dog

  • Must be over 18 years old and lack criminal background
  • There must be a certificate of psychological suitability and civil liability insurance for the minimum amount of coverage of 120.000 euros
  • The dog must have a passport that includes the vaccines and the identification chip
  • It is necessary to request in the City Council the license for the possession of the dog, that will be enrolled in the corresponding register and must be renewed every five years

  • You can not buy or sell potentially dangerous animals to anyone without a license. In addition, breeders, trainers and traders of potentially dangerous animals must have adequate facilities or facilities for their holding

    And the new regulations of all dogs of 20kg or higher that have to carry muzzle and insurance obligatory, is not said anything? Because they are persecuted only to the bad considered as dangerous and not to all as marks the law?

    Whoever has PPP to get the license because if they crack us. I am paying 2.400 eur for not having the license. They do not forgive anything so you know… better safe than sorry.
