Pepa Sivera want to include the prevention of childhood obesity in schools

Councilwoman Education Pepa Sivera and the head of the Local Agenda 21 Vicente Chelet They visited last March 10 the Madrid town of Villanueva de la Cañada in order to see first hand the Program for Prevention of Childhood Obesity municipality that teaches college students Santiago Apostle. The project, which has been carrying out since 2007, is based on the NAOS (Ministry of Health) Strategy and Thao-Child Health Program.

Councilor Pepa Sivera during the aforementioned meeting showed her interest in incorporating a similar prevention program in the educational centers of Dénia. This project would address pathologies linked to overweight and lack of control in food, as well as healthy habits.

Villanueva de la Cañada, with 19.000 inhabitants, is a leader in education. Currently chairs the Spanish Healthy Cities Network and is also linked to the Spanish Nutrition Foundation.

    Fantastic !!!! I would like to know the program.

    I am a child obese elderly. Not only all my life I had to control my weight, but I had a childhood filled with sadness of teasing and discomfort.

    But those programs without changing habits at home and without the example of the parents will not be possible to maintain results.
