El Party from Dénia has publicly expressed its support for the celebration of Els Bous a la Mar, after the recent critical statements issued by representatives of the PACMA partyAccording to the Development Popular, this festival constitutes an essential part of cultural, tourist and emotional heritage of the city.
The spokesperson of the PP in Dénia, Pepa Font, has defended the continuity of this tradition, declared National Tourist Interest, ensuring that its formation will guarantee its celebration "in its entirety" in case of accessing the local government, including all the bullfighting shows associates.
Tradition, identity and animal welfare
The PP assures that The Bous a la Mar has broad support from residents and visitors., despite the fact that no consultation has ever been held on the matter to support these statements, and they emphasize its supposed value as an expression of culture and identity. In Font's words, criticism of the festival comes "from outside, from ignorance, or from ideological radicalism." Criticisms that, they insist, come from those "who don't understand that this is a festival that is experienced with respect, tradition, and feeling."
The party has reiterated its commitment to a responsible celebration, stressing that all animal welfare regulations are met. According to them, the event has Veterinary assistance, permanent surveillance and safety protocols both for the animals and the participants.
In its statement, the PP has defended the cultural plurality and respect for local traditions, in the face of what they consider "external ideological pressures" that could jeopardize the continuity of this type of celebration.
The party concludes by reaffirming its intention to strengthen the parties of July and support both the festive groups and the range of traditional activities that, they say, are part of the social, economic, and cultural fabric of Dénia.

I'm from Denia, and I don't support bullfighting at all, because it's animal abuse. Enough with the fun at the expense of animals. It's unnecessary, and there are plenty of feasible alternatives to having fun without causing harm. Denia is covering itself in shit with this shameful and pathetic display.
