Pep Romany and Grup Nodrissa receive their Premis de la Tardor

Last Friday the award ceremony of the XXVIII Premis de la Tardor was held at the Androna Multiespai, giving special recognition to Pep Romany for his gastronomic and cultural career, and to Grup Nodrissa for its important social contribution to breastfeeding.

The evening began with the performance No+ Bullying of Inefable Producciones and shortly after the award ceremony began, which included prominent figures of culture and political representatives of the region, as well as the deputy of Congress, Joan Baldoví, the Vice President of the Council and Minister of Equality and Inclusive Policies, Aitana Mas, or the general secretary of Més-Compromís, Àgueda Micó, among others.

The presentation was given by Sergi Alemany, a member of the local executive, and Safir Malonda. The presenters defined the Tardor Awards as a reason to "recognize the courage, worth, work and good work of people and groups in our territory by disseminating, promoting and building culture, society, quality and traditional gastronomy and, in definitively, humanism».

La Tardor Award to Grup Nodrissa

The user and mother who participated with the Nodrissa Group 4 years ago and member of the executive, Malena Cremades, was in charge of dedicating a few words to the Nodrissa Group represented there, highlighting the work carried out during this time by the advisory mothers but with a tone claim highlighting breastfeeding, not only as the most beneficial way to breastfeed babies but also the most empowering for mothers. During the collective award ceremony, there was a projection that visually reviewed their activity and in which different advisory and counseled mothers took part, explaining their experience in breastfeeding their babies and how Grup Nodrissa has been a fundamental support in this period.

The award was collected by Nodrissa from the Vice President of the Consell and Minister of Equality and Inclusive Policies, Aitana Mas. The winners thanked the award, defining it as "an incentive that motivates us to continue working for this project started in 2006", but they also took the opportunity publicly to thank Compromís for the impetus given to the motion presented to request a Breastfeeding Unit in the Hospital de Dénia, which was unanimously approved by the Municipal Corporation. For her part, Aitana Mas recounted her experience as her mother and reviewed the policies that are being carried out from the Ministry that she heads.

After this, it was the turn of the individual Award to the chef Pep Romany, «for his contribution to the dissemination of gastronomic culture and without losing tradition, quality products, our roots and our language. And beyond gastronomy, collaborating in different projects and initiatives related to our city”.

The person in charge of dedicating a few words to him was María Romany, a relative of the lucky winner. María gave an emotional and personal speech in which she highlighted the ingredients that have led Pep to success in the world of gastronomy.

After an emotional video dedicated to the winner, he went up on stage to collect the socarrat from the hands of the spokesman and councilor of Compromís in the Dénia City Council, Rafa Carrió, and made an emotional speech exposing the defense of the territory, the kitchen, the values ​​of gastronomy and the quality of its products. He also recalled the importance of maintaining certain trades related to gastronomy, such as agriculture and livestock in the region, essential to make a cuisine based on quality, proximity and tradition.

The next to speak was the general secretary of Més-Compromís, Àgueda Micó. Micó encouraged to continue celebrating these awards already consolidated by the Dénia collective and "fundamental to promote those who work for the common good." Subsequently, she reviewed the policies adopted by the Government of the Botànic up to now and highlighted the importance of Compromís in the institutions.

Finally, the deputy in Congress, Joan Baldoví, highlighted the importance of these awards, "symbol of work and the perseverance of many people and groups who fight every day to improve the life of society." In addition, Baldoví was committed to the winners. On the one hand, with the Nodrissa Group, he has led the much-claimed Breastfeeding Unit in the Compromís electoral program, and on the other with Pep Romany, with whom he undertakes to carry out the corresponding procedures with the Department of Education to promote the values ​​of traditional and quality gastronomy.

To close the event, the local secretary, Agustí Espí, thanked everyone present for their attendance and congratulated the winners of this edition.
