Pego and Dénia promote the rice of the region of Marina Alta

El Dénia Action Plan&Marina Alta tastinglife will be present at the "I Gastrocultural Week" which will be held in Pego from 11 to 16 in September with different activities aimed at promoting rice in the region.

The organization is in charge of the councils of Tourism, Economic Promotion and Culture of the City of Pego, and has the collaboration of the City of Dénia through the Office of Innovation and Creativity. Last Saturday, in the Market of Denia. a staged presentation of these days took place and in the coming days Pego rice producers will visit all the public markets of the Marina Alta.

With the "Gastrocultural Week" is intended to promote the rice of the Marjal from perspectives as different as nature, culture or gastronomy. An extensive program has been developed that includes culinary demonstrations, round tables, and visits to the fields where rice is grown.

Schedule of the Gastrocultural Week

Monday September 11

Tuesday September 12

Wednesday September 13

At 18: 30 Hours: In the House of Culture, homage to the women cooks of the municipality of Pego, with exhibition of old photographs and recognition of the work done for many years.

Thursday September 14

At 10 Hours: In the Market Square, "street marketing", reception and twinning to the"Amics de la Costra Association"

Friday September 15

Collaboration between the municipalities of Denia and Pego

The collaboration between the municipalities of Dénia and Pego falls within two of the priorities of the Dénia & Marina Alta Tastinglife Action Plan of the Creative City of Gastronomy of UNESCO: they are the promotion and promotion of the product and local producers of the Marina Alta, and in an outstanding way, those traditional products, as it is the case of the brown rice; and on the other hand, the alliance between local administrations with the objective of promoting the creation of an ecosystem of agri-food production and transformation in the Marina Alta.
