Opinion Civic Platform of Dénia: «Habemus NUT! Finally?"

January 18 from 2019 - 11: 14

Since the courts of Justice left the city of Dénia without urban planning, it has had to spend a year and a half to recover legal security and, with it, the long-awaited economic and territorial stability.

What would be a few weeks from the public exposure of the Transitory Rules of the Generalitat, has ended up becoming more than twelve months of uncertainty and harm to the community. Meetings, agreements, reports, answers, deadlines and a host of actions of what is already called, "elbow-to-elbow policy", which, by the information we have, is nothing more than a metaphor for the presumed municipal pressure which has led the Ministry not only to renounce the urgency of this transitory medicine, but also to condition its own competence for the processing and approval of the urban planning norm.

Worry yes, discomfort and disappointment too. But now they have become an illusion and hope for regaining confidence, despite the enormous delay of the Consell, and the strange maneuvers of a General Directorate of Planning and Urban Development, who granted deadlines that later broke the City Council. The latter seems to have incorporated new reports extemporaneously to achieve its purpose; twelve declassifications that allowed to keep alive his Structural Plan. Although, finally, the Conselleria ended up avoiding the ruinous pretension, except for a last minute change in its website, accepting only part of one of those twelve floors to be declassified.

When we thought that there was only publication, the Generalitat again unnecessarily impatiently impacted citizens, delaying the publication of the approval agreement to the limit. As a result of all this incoherent and burdensome modus operandi, we find ourselves with a vulnerable autonomic NUT, and with a structural plan that agonizes in its flight towards the abyss of failure. The local governments will not recognize the reality, and certainly they will invite us to celebrate Groundhog Day in the next month of August, when the environmental phase of the PGE will finally expire and in which we will have to start from scratch, dedicating more time and public money for the recurring purpose. But, in the electoral universe, the staging is a value and will make us believe that there is a future in the already defunct General Plan.

With the satisfaction, finally, of having a rule that governs the dilapidated Dianense urbanism, we maintain our ethical commitment to demand transparency and good governance. Therefore, on Wednesday, we formally presented two requests to open investigation commissions; one addressed to the Presidency of the Generalitat, the other to the Mayor's Office of the Ajuntament de Dénia, both executives who love this kind of remunerated analytical practices.

The social agents that participate in the Civic Platform of Dénia wish that our request for investigation and transparency be valued and accepted. In addition, we have demanded that it be brought to the attention of the political groups of the opposition, and of course, we have offered our collaboration as active participants in two commissions, because, ultimately, we are the citizens who have the questions that must be answered and documented. . Perhaps this is the way to overcome the darkness of so many political interests that have ended up contaminating urbanism.
