Eight chefs compete today at the Second International Competition of Creative Cuisine Red Gamba de Dénia

During the morning of today, the Mercat de Dénia will become the gastronomic center of the country with the celebration of the II International Competition of Creative Cuisine of the Red Shrimp of Dénia that will start the 9: 30 of the morning.

Matías Fernández, from the Quinoa restaurant, in Falset (Tarragona); Joaquín Baeza, from the Baeza Rufete restaurant, in Playa de San Juan (Alicante); Federico Guajardo, from the restaurant of the Hotel Los Angeles, from Dénia; Álvaro Abad, from the Roca restaurant, from Aspe (Alicante); Antonio Rubio, from the Mesón Campero restaurant, in Linares (Jaén), Ricardo Giraldo, from the hotel restaurant Les Rotes, Dénia; Víctor Trochi, Restaurant Les Magnòlies of Arbúices (Girona) and Ignacio Hernández, The Oriental Monkey Restaurant, Playa de las Americas (Tenerife) will have about 3 hours to cook the recipes prepared for the contest.

At the 12: 30 will begin to present their creations to the jury, which is chaired by the chef Quique Dacosta, who will be accompanied by journalist Julia Pérez; José Carlos Capel, director of the gastronomic congress Madrid Fusión; Quico Moya, from the restaurant of 1 Michelin star La Escaleta; and Lluis Ruíz, gastronomic editor in several newspapers of national circulation.

Around 13: 45 awards ceremony will begin with the distribution of diplomas to the participating chefs. President of the jury will read the minutes of winners, who will receive a sculpture by Ton Marí and 1.000, 500 and 300 euros respectively.
