New pluridomiciliary mailboxes in the residential areas of Dénia: so you can request them

12 July 2018 - 12: 53

Neighbors Les Rotes, Marines, Montgo, Les Deveses and La Pedrera will stop receiving postal service in their homes from the next 1 in November after the agreement reached by the City Council and the distribution company, whose aim was to stop distributing the March 5 in the disseminated Dianense.

Once this extension was approved, the City Council initiated the procedures for the installation of new pluridomiciliary mailboxes in the affected areas in order for neighbors to request their mailbox. So far they have registered more than 925 requests.

How to request a multi-user mailbox?

Those interested in having a multi-user mailbox can request it by check-in at the City Hall of Dénia until next July 20.

How much does a mailbox cost and how can I pay it?

Each mailbox will have a cost of between 40 and 100 euros, depending on the number of requests that are registered. The final price will be announced to the neighbors, as well as the payment procedure and the award of the mailbox, once the application period ends.

Where will they be installed?

The City Council will install a total of 16 points in the affected areas: 2 in Les Deveses, 5 in Les Marines, and 9 in the Rotes-Montgó area. You can check the location of each multi-user mailbox here.

I already have a multi-user mailbox, do I have to modify something?

Currently there are multi-user mailboxes in progress in different areas of the city. Correos has requested the owners to reordenen and rotulen again according to current legislation, some work that should be done before the last 2 of July. In this case they are private mailboxes, so the City Council has no power of execution to carry out the modifications requested by the Post Office, being the owners responsible for carrying them out.

Although the deadline has already been met, the team leader of the Post Office unit in Dénia, Pedro Montealegre, points out that the owners of existing multi-household mailboxes that have not yet done the planning can do it at any time to receive the correspondence again.

Therefore, the owners of multi-domiciliary mailboxes already installed that have not carried out the reordering have three possibilities:

  • Reorder mailboxes according to the law to receive their correspondence there again
  • Give up reordering and receive correspondence at the post office in Dénia
  • Join the City Council campaign and request a newly created multi-user mailbox

This last option is the one that Montealegre, on a personal level, recommends to the citizens, since the City Council has facilitated the procedures for the installation and it will be easier for the neighbors to request a new mailbox that will reorder the ones they already have.

Wow with the mailboxes! When I requested it I understood that it would be a nuisance and an expense of about 40 euros but now they are saying that it will amount to about 90 euros plus VAT and on top of it with a duration of 12 years that can be extended by another rate ... Ufff ... we know if they are covered by any insurance, it is assumed that they are, since they are not ours but the MI City Council.

  2. tired of paying says:

I agree with you and add more times you have to pay for the same for others to take it sit down enough and love enough already?

  3. I xelo says:

I do not agree with mailboxes, pluridomiciliary.
I live in les rotes and the mailboxes are going to be located 1km from where I live, in addition, with 63 years and a 58% handicap, he will tell me if I can go to the mail every day ...
Also, there you can not park and are at the mercy of vandalism. If the mailboxes are broken and vital information disappears for the user, who will take over?
Very bad by mail and by the City Council that has allowed
I ask from here to restore as soon as possible the service to which we have the right, to be where I live urban area.
