New maternal education online classes for midwives of the Dénia Health Department

November 09 from 2021 - 13: 51

The midwives of the Dénia Health Department offer maternal education classes online and open to future fathers and mothers who are interested in receiving the training.

The formation, via zoom, occurs every weekday from 16:00 p.m. to 18:00 p.m.. It consists of 8 sessions in which the following topics are addressed: labor, delivery, non-pharmacological and pharmacological methods for pain relief, postpartum care, newborn care and breastfeeding. Pre-registration is not necessary to access.

The objective is to be able to reach those people who, for different reasons, cannot travel to their health centers to carry out the training in person. In this sense, Silvia Crespo, supervisor of midwives, stresses that: “We started online training during the pandemic. Currently we have started face-to-face sessions in health centers, but we have detected that there are mothers who have difficulty attending. For this reason, we believe that it can be a way of facilitating their training ”.

In addition, DSD midwives offer a online chat aimed at pregnant women who are in the first trimester of pregnancy. The training is celebrated the last Tuesday of each month, from 16:00 p.m. to 18:00 p.m.. It collects important aspects for women, such as: physical and psychological changes, the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and monitoring pregnancy, first trimester symptoms and disease prevention, among others. And it aims to solve doubts and reinforce the information offered by midwives in the first consultations.
