New station and rearrangement in Joan Fuster: the Plan Confianza modifies the physiognomy of the city

14 December 2017 - 07: 59

They have taken many years, but finally the projects of the Productive Investment Plan (Plan Confianza) are taking shape in Dénia. These days the changes that the city is undergoing are remarkable, especially in two points.

The first of these, the intersection between Diana Street and Joan Fuster Avenue, where work has begun on the creation of a new roundabout that will rearrange traffic and will be integrated with the future route of the 9 line of the TRAM linking Dénia and Alicante

Work began on Monday with the elimination of the provisional roundabout that was created years ago at the crossing and that, until now, had regulated traffic. Since the beginning of the works that roundabout has disappeared to make way for a more complex crossing but that will allow drivers to get used to what will be the definitive circulation in that area when they have finished the works.

From Monday, the vehicles that go towards the area of La Pedrera have to do it by the lanes closest to the urban nucleus, while those that go to the port have to do it by the two lanes parallel to the road closest to the Montgó. The first days there was the confusion of a change of this magnitude for the drivers, but the signage in the area and the personnel are being fundamental for the proper functioning of the traffic.

The new bus station, at a good pace

Another of the notable changes we are observing this week is that of the new bus station on José Moncho Ferrer Street, whose work began last August and is going well. This week the work has focused on the installation of a large entrance canopy to the site where you can read "Dénia Bus Station".

The company responsible for its installation, the Almeria Custom Home, has created a marquee that in principle will not be closed next to what will be the ticket offices and toilets of the station. Inside the enclosure are also seen the platforms where the buses will park.

The works of the station have an expected duration of six months, so it is expected that at the beginning of the year this infrastructure may be in operation. Once the Archduke Carlos bus stop is decongesting, its rehabilitation as a pedestrian plaza will be closer.

  2. Carlos Sanchez Martin says:

Apparently the buses can not enter since the entrance is small, but so far they do not give solution. What do you plan to do?
