"There is no better vaccine than social distancing"

15 June 2020 - 14: 45

There are only a few days left to receive visitors from outside the community and international tourists again, coinciding with the high summer season in the Marina Alta. Despite the fact that it is cause for celebration for the local economy, it is impossible to avoid thinking that there will be greater exposure to the coronavirus and, therefore, security measures must be maximized.

In this sense, the City Council has reiterated that it is important to be aware that the health crisis is still continuing and for this reason it is more necessary than ever to maintain safety distances and take care of everyone's health. During the press conference held on Monday, the government team admitted knowing the initiatives that the public has undertaken to celebrate the first Saturday of July, which would be the first day of Holidays despite the fact that these have been canceled.

However, they assure that those who have sent them speak of going to local restaurants in the municipality to make meals while complying with the established security measures, which they welcome from the consistory. Despite this, there is a certain risk that these may lead to the celebration continuing outside the establishments. The usual thing on that date was to see Marqués de Campo crowded with people consuming alcohol and enjoying the different outdoor leisure offers. This is an image that they do not want to be repeated, so they will appreciate intensifying surveillance that day, as they will do on June 23, where the beach will be closed at night to avoid celebrating San Joan.

All this time I thought it was called antisocial distancing, I didn't know it was "social", how stupid I am.
