Boys and girls from Dénia learn about brain damage and healthy eating in the 'Parcs habitats' program

31 October 2022 - 12: 31

On Saturday, a meeting of the 'Parcs habitats' program was organized in the children's park on Carrer de la Via with the collaboration of the Cerebrum association. From 16:30 p.m. to 18:30 p.m., families enjoyed leisure time and learning in the public space.

The activity, convened by the Department of Social Welfare at the proposal of the Council for Children and Adolescents (CLIA), brought together adults and children to talk about healthy eating and brain damage. Through games and a talk, the boys and girls learned about the benefits of adopting healthy eating habits in their daily lives. In addition, emphasis was placed on talking to the little ones about cognitive and functional diversity, since last Wednesday the International Day of Acquired Brain Injury was celebrated.

This initiative is included within the projects undertaken by Dénia as a Child and Adolescent Friendly City, and aims to bring natural public spaces back to life with the collaboration of local social entities. The aim, embodied in the 'Missions' project, is for young people to spend at least 30% of their free time on the street.

children's day

The Department of Social Welfare has already begun to organize activities for Children's Day, which is on November 20. On Saturday, November 19, it is planned that children, young people and their families will enjoy activities that will be proposed by CLIA in the park of Plaça Jaume I.

During the morning, the activities will be aimed at the smallest public, while in the afternoon they will be focused on young people.
